Description
Earth1Earth Heavy Duty Degradable Bags
Plastic, because of its molecular structure, takes a long time to degrade. Tests can give an idea of how long it takes even though plastic has not been around for that long (i.e. it takes longer for plastic to degrade than it has been in existence.). earth 2 earth uses technology that enables the plastic to degrade at an accelerated pace and we can plainly see the results in an adjustable time period from weeks to years.
Degradation is a process whereby very large molecules are broken into smaller molecules or fragments. Bio-degradation is the process by which micro organisms convert material into biomass. earth 2 earth technology is a solution to the plastic waste problem that really does work! We can save up to 30% on landfill space by using this type of plastic.
What is “Total Degredation”?
Total degradation is a two stage process that happens as a result of exposure to heat, UV light, or mechanical stress, or the combination thereof. Firstly the plastic is converted by reaction with oxygen to molecular fragments that are water wettable, and secondly, these smaller oxidized molecules degrade by bio-degradation. The microbial growth on the molecular fragments leads to the formation of Carbon Dioxide, Water, and biomass. There is no harmful residue left over.
